been a while but things are falling in place so I can work on the boat again. had a son pass away and it shut me down for awhile. have decided to use marine plywood and epoxy resin instead of the pourables.i have a question .can anyone reading this tell me how to tell if the foam that is in the boat now is closed are open cell.i can tell the boat set in the water awhile and shows a water line close to the top of the motor about 19 inches.and it appears the floor was replaced along the way. but all the foam I have ckecked has no water in it.dont want to replace it if I don't need to.

Condolences on your son - that's really rough.
I'm pretty sure all the original foam is closed cell. When it gets wet the water seems to accumulate in the lowest part and not saturate the foam so much. With open cell its more like a sponge - it is all moist or wet. |

Be cautious when you choose a power plant. If you put a four stroke back there on that bracket you will really effect the ride and performance. Even a two stroke 2 feet further aft than originally designed will have a noticeable effect. If it was me (and it was a year ago) I'd raise the transom up to about 26.5 inches and hang an engine directly on the transom or get a hermco or similar floatation bracket. Lookin good, good luck and keep the pics coming.
