Fuel polishing complete and according to the marina mechanic they pulled out a lot of crap. They did it in the water so the polisher was able to rock the boat to break loose more stuff to filter.I heard it took about 2 hrs.Mechanic took it out and still had problems. The anti syphon valve on the tank couldn't handle what ever was left in the tank so he switched to a no valve hook up and the motor ran good. all fuel going thru my onboard filter of course. So after I paint the bottom I'll run a few tanks thru the system without the anti-syphon valve to clean the tank and then switch back...I hope.If that doesn't work then I guess a new tank might be in order. I hope Not!
This boats tank has the vent in the front of the tank with the vent hose coming out from under the deck just aft of the casting platform and running all the way back to right next to the fuel fill on the port side. Thats probably about 12' of hose. Would there be a problem to relocate the vent forward near the casting platform to eliminate all that hose that could be holding old fuel in the low spots?
Thanks in advance and hopefully more positive updates and pics to follow. Play safe.
