location of rigging holes on outboard bracket

For the engine rigging, I used Don Herman's rigging kit which included two 2" OD aluminum tubes about 6" long and two 2" ID x 3' long plastic flex tubes. The aluminum tubes go in the swim platform into flotation tank and from flotation tank into transom. The flex tubes go from motor to swim platform and from underside of swim platform to the tube in transom. (Note: It's important to fill the tube thru the transom into flotation tank full of silicone after you finish rigging, to prevent leaks into boat if you happen to get water in flotation tub!)

For the hydraulic steering hoses, I ran the 2 long hoses thru a large plastic Cable Clam I got from BOW. If I was to redo the steering hoses, I would install a couple of union/bulkhead fittings in the swim platform and then run 2 short hoses from cylinder to the fittings and then another set of hoses or the Hynautic-type nylon tubing from helm to union fittings on underside of swim platform. Or you could use these fancy hoses with the integral strain relief bulkhead fittings, although I don't know how watertight those bulkhead fittings are. I tie-wrapped some plastic wiring loom material over the hoses between swim platform and motor to shield them from UV and they've held up fine for 9 years.

What is the 8-10" dimension you mentioned?
