One thing about these gatherings is that you can always count on good times with really friendly folks and great food! Each gathering is better than the last! Extra special thanks to Terry and Marsha for organizing this one, renting the big room, providing much of the fish and doing a lot of the work!
Here's an early morning shot of Doug's boat at the convenient anchorage across the river and a shot of Danny's freshly repowered Sceptre! That anchorage was really convenient with no bugs! One benefit of Moesly putting the front hatch on a sloping surface is that, besides making it easier to crawl through, it becomes a big air scoop when opened! There was enough breeze and it was cool enough that I had the hatch almost completely closed by morning! Denny

I am a little tardy in my response as well. I wanted to thank everyone from the Sebastian gathering, as well as some new members. My high school buddy from Jersey happened to be on this side of the state, and we were welcomed into the Gator Room for the "all you can eat buffet"!
Arrived in time to see a few new models, and the Candy Cane I was fortunate to sample. I would like to especially like to Thank KMoose and Mel for tightening me up with three large filets of Grouper. My fishing partner here in HB is battling colon cancer and can no longer eat meat, and rarely chicken. We fished hard on Friday, as well as this last Fri., and Sat., with only two shorts. Needless to say, my buddy Paul seriously appreciated the gesture!!! Looking forward to the next venue. Vezo, Part II |

Vezo part II, The place was all your idea, bro'. I wasn't sure we could drag everybody that far north on the west coast and back in August and I was worried about the November fronts like they had a couple of years ago at Anclote. We put it up for a vote and I think Blue Heron and Kmoose each voted a couple of times but heck this is Florida and we're used to that. I'm good with the "Nature Coast" up there and knew if we could get everybody to come and the weather was tolerable we'd be just fine. Having attended a couple of these Gatherings, I've kind'a figured out what ever'body is lookin fer - Key West without the "Light in your loafers crowd!!!". To me the best picture is Danny standing on the front of his Scepter looking at Dougie pop up with a 23" Gag Grouper in 11' of water - of course you can't see land! The place is weird - Sandy saw three generations of a family wearing wearing camo and every third truck had Rebal Flags but by Sunday he was singing "The South 's going to do it again" just like Charlie in the CDB. Too funny. Marsh and I had a great time as ambassadors of the Nature Coast. We do a lot of activities with different groups but none pitch in and make it all happen like the CSC brothers and sisters. You "guys" are the Best!
