i'm on my 2nd 18, the first had a 200, later replaced it with a yamaha 130, present boat has a merc 125.
the 200 was a beast. boat would chine walk and make for 'wet feet fishing'. always had plugs in and had to be extra vigilante at dock. the yammy was perfect at dock, as is the merc 125. as others have said, these boats do not need the extra hp. be careful out there
