Default Replacing canvas on T-Top, options

Looking at replacing the canvas on my top. Was looking at changing to a hard top, but reading a lot about the frame not being able to handle the extra weight.
Anyone have any experience or advice on which direction to go?

Where did you get the sheet of fiberglass from?

This guy in NY makes starboard replacements for canvas t-tops.
Have never bought the t-top replacement personally but we (I work for a boatyard) have used his hatches and tackle boxes.
Always very good quality.
Just another option.

Replaced mine with thin fiberglass sheet from Home Depot ..had to make a joint with channel to get size...I put grommets in it like you would in canvass and used heavy plastic ties...12 years and still looked great when I sold the boat.

A friend of mine was thinking about replacing the canvas on his top. He took the canvas off and rolled some kind of rubberized stuff on it, let it dry and then re installed it. It looks pretty good. He had some extra left in the can and he dipped some of his tools (screw drivers, pliers handles). He just did it a month or so ago. Will have to see how well it holds up.
