Route planner?
Finally got my trailer set up for long distance towing. With tower my height is 12.5 feet on the trailer. I know its up there. Wondering if anyone has a friend, or is a long distance truck driver and if so, is there a group that will map out road routes with adequate bridge heights? Any ideas would be appreciated. FL DOT does not seem to show bridge heights and basically told me I should pre-drive every route I want to take............

I thought it was minimum 13' 6" clearance on highway bridges, I'm sure that's correct on the interstate, however I see where you are coming from. 12' 6" is WAY up there!! I know some bridges over the water lower than that...at low tide! Heck, I've got some broken 8' antennas to prove that!

Hey Don,
I thought so too but I saw a bridge on the way to Crystal River last Tuesday on the Sun Coast Parkway that was 11'7"!!! Freaked me out! I am sure there is a place for Truck drivers that lets them know if they can run a route. 11'7" would be a huge mistake for me! |

All I have is an old Garmin that has taken me down some tight spaces. A friend of mine has one for his motorhome that is programable to his size and he says it keeps him away from low bridges.
