QUOTE=NoBones;252519]Do us all a favor and take pics on the trailer with an azz shot... I just got through mounting a Hermco on Jr's 23 Sceptre with a new 25" Suzuki 300 HP ! We are dead nuts with the mounting after his sea trial. One hole up on the bracket. 5.75 inches from the bottom of the boat to the plate..... Simple geometry. Attachment 15148[/QUOTE] |

This JPL4300 Vance Mfg. Jackplate has the least setback (3")of anything I've seen, but it's only rated for 225 hp. It's 4" height increase was all I needed. Don't know what motor you have, but the BRP Cyclone is an excellent 4B prop with lots of stern lift. The BRP Rebel is also a very good 3B stern lifting prop with lots of blade area and cupping. Pic below shows what you should see up on plane if your height is right.

Thank you! I added a jack plate and I think I am in the ball park now. Need to fine tune it. First run had the plate just about above the water boat run completely different now more speed and better WOT RPMs. I can get on plane at much lower speed too.
Thank you all for the help I will keep you posted after I dial it in. |
