Bumping this old thread. So my original mousefur shag ceiling is in pretty decent shape, save for the hatch cover, which has mildew on it and it's kinda "nappy" and gross. My question is regarding cleaning it... I may just try dawn, warm water with a little bleach, and scrub gently with a soft bristled brush. Thoughts!?

Interesting to note, every girl I've ever dated/married has hated the material, and strongly urged for an upholstery upgrade. I've toyed with replacing it, but just can't bring myself to do it!

EDIT: hatch removed, cleaned, and reinstalled with new hatch adjusters.
