Default weight of a center console

Need an estimate or actual weight of a bare center console from a 1976 20SF (no steering, wiring, electronics, instruments, windshield, grab rails, etc.). Need the weight in order to get a cost estimated to ship the console from NY to MA. My best guess would be about 50lbs. Way off?

Just ran a rough calc - should be about 60 lbs or so (assumed 30" wide, 36" tall, 36" long, 1/4" thick)

Flexpat,

I did some quick calc's based on dimensions I had and it lookes like the consoles surface area was about 40 square feel and the average thickness was about 1/4". What number did you use (per sq foot?) to get the weight?

0.054 lb/in3 for glass reinforced polyester (40%glass by weight)
I made a crude 3D model and let the software figure the weight out but back calculating the surface area gives 31.25 sqft. I just guessed console dimensions though.

Running your number of 40ft2 at 0.25in equals 1440 in3 and 73 lbs.
