Get you a milk crate and get your anchor set up front before you ride out having everything including the anchor ball, rode and hook in the back of the boat. This avoids the gunnel walk of death to the front. Hermit is spot on with post and your friend put it into "course up" mode which is a cluster in most any situation.

As much as you anchor I would get that Rodan we were talking about. Problem solved!
