Raising Engine - Transom Top Spacer
I will be installing a Suzuki DF350 on my hermco twin bracket in the next week or so and came across this note in the rigging manual. Is anyone familiar with the need for this spacer when raising an engine above the lowest mounting holes?

Maybe I'm not too smart, but I thought the 1/2" SS bolts would take care of that?? Never after a couple of dozen engines that I have had, either rigged, raised, etc. have I done that. Besides once the transom holes are drilled (which we all know is done first, duh!), normally it's done with a jig, and when you have picked which hole the engine is going to be installed you would need up to five different spacers.

yeah i was surprised by this detail. I hate to ignore a detail from the rigging manual but I've never seen anything like this on any of the installed DF350s i've seen or any other engine for that matter.
