Default Deck Plate for 1978 20' Sceptre

I am posting as I have a potential issue with my 1978 Sceptre. Boat was up at Saquatucket in Harwich, Ma, but windstorms in late Oct/early Nov. seems to have loosed the bow deck plate and blown into water (see section under windshield). On Nov 18th I discovered it was gone. Sending diver in next week to see if he can locate under docs in harbor. Praying this works and he can find in silt.

On the off chance he cannot, wondering if anyone on this forum might have a deck plate from a Potter built Sceptre circa 78? Or, if not, might I borrow one to make a mold?

I should know if the next week if diver can find it, but if not trying to come up with "plan b". Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Sorry, those wont work on my boat. The 20' has a curved plate that locks under the windshield.

Those look more like what would go in the aft back by the engine to cover the access in the stern. The plate I am looking for is in the bow. if you look at picture you can just make out the hatch plate under the windshield.

Unfortunately diver was unsuccessful in finding deck plate.

Is there anyone in the Massachusetts area who would let me borrow deck plate for mold?

Hi Hedgehog,
I'm down on Shelter Island at the east end of Long Island. I have a mid 70's Sceptre 20 in inventory that I would be happy to take the deck hatch off and loan to you. Let me know if you don't come up with anything local.

HI Otterhound -

I really really appreciate the offer! I have a lead on a boat here on the Cape, but if that does not pan out, I will definitely take you up on offer! My fiberglass guy is down in carribbean till mid March, but when he gets back I will let you know. Thanks again, as making a mold is a huge help!

Hi Otterhound - I am reaching out to see if I can borrow your Scepter deck plate. I have had a diver look unsuccessfully for my boat part, and it looks like it will not be found. I would like to get boat part completed before we really get into season. Can you provide phone number, so we can discuss logistics? I will drive there from Cape cod, so would need particulars. I can be reached at 860-305-7600. You may need to leave message, as I get so many robo calls I don't answer. Thanks for your help!
