Default 1976 Seacraft Stern Drive

Has anybody taken a stern drive and converted it to a out board?
There is a convex in the hull where the propeller and rudder sick out. How does that affect the hull?

Cool was wondering if the transom on these types could hold a bracket.

I would think it would allow you to run the outboard up even higher than normal. I would be carful with mounting heights of a bracket and leave myself some extra holes to go up on the outboard. Not sure how it would handle with out the normal pad area though.

Yes sir-Inboard (volvo diesel in the large console originally) converted to bracketed outboards. 6 were produced from Miami. It did not have the prop pocket. It was jackshafted to an outdrive. They converted the console area to handle 2 50gal upright tempo tanks plus the saddle tanks held 100+ gals. 450hp with 200 gals of fuel.

I would have the same concern with handling and holding plane with the loss of the pad. I do think it would be an awesome boat to notch the transom for a 30" motor. The pocket would allow a little more height on the motor.
