Default update

I decided to redesign the cuddy. I went with a three panel design at the bow which will give me more room at the helm. I cut apart the old cuddy and have been reusing the pieces so hopefully very little will go to waste. The front and inside edge of the seat storage bench is glassed in and I glassed one of the shelves last night. I glassed one of the new cuddy sides last night and will glass the other side tonight. I finished all of the floor hatches which feels like a major step forward and a lot of new walking space on the deck.

The cockpit floor now is glassed in and both of the seat back are cut and ready to be glassed in(hopefully this weekend). I layout and cut out the coring for the transom boxes. One of the gunnel splits has also been glassed back to where the transom box begins.

Made some big moves this week. The coring is now glassed and ready for fairing, same with the seat boxes. I still need to finish tabbing in the deck hatches and transom storage boxes, then lots of fairing...

If anyone is on the fence regarding coring the hull sides I can now say that it is incredible how rigid the front hull is now. There is zero movement when you press against the top edge of the hull(and will only get more so with the cap installed). I'm excited to see how it feels going through some decent size chop.

Awesome work man! Going to be starting to core mine here soon. What did you use to laminate the divinycell to the hull? Core bond? Also how many layers of glass to you use? Thanks!

I used thickened epoxy to bond to the hull and fill the kerfs and gaps before glassing. There are two layers of 1400(alternated orientation) plus tabbing. Like I mentioned earlier you'll be impressed with what a difference it makes.

Should I add more glass to the anchor locker? I've been on the fence weather I need to add more glass to the hull sides in the anchor locker. If so how much? The liner that was in there was fairly thin as I recall(~1/8") and it worked fine so I figure the hull should be fine. I also don't want one of my buddies to drop the anchor and damage the hull. Let me know your thoughts.

I like the Contender style anchor storage with the vertical pipe glassed in. That way the anchor only goes there.
