Just spend 2 hours retracing all the wires harnesses and connections, replaced all the fuses I could find and still nothing.

When I reconnected the wire that goes from the gas gauge to the wire that comes from the key switch it works.....3/4 of a tank and can't use it.

Seems to me it's the key switch since it's the only thing that does not work.

Hate to buy one to see if that's the case but other than that it's the way I'm going

Maybe first hook the new one up temporarily, without removing the old one or installing the new one, and see if that solves the problem? Then if it still isn't working return the new key switch. Only time I've had anything like that it was an issue with the neutral safety switch being off a ridiculously tiny bit
