Cap coring question

20' SF; What thickness and materials have you used? Ever have issues with the shape NOT being flexible enough to conform back to "sheer" shape?

When I did my cap I set up sawhorses to match the sheer in 3 places front back and middle. .1/2 nidacore took the shape easily.

I used 1/2" coosa for my cap and had no problems with the sheer. I did however have one spot that bowed inward horizontally near the transom where I split the cap.

Mike from Wildfire told me knew someone who's cap wouldn't return to shape because he recored it flat.

I stretched a straight line over my hull from stern to bow and took measurements up to the line - and then when I flipped my cap I shimmed it up in key areas to keep the sheer. I re-cored with 1/2 inch divynicell and had no issues. ALSO I was careful to leave a couple of sections un-cored as they were originally to add some flex.

i did mine in 3/4 divinycell. solid as a rock and conformed to the sheer just fine
