Hooper there is nothing to worry about. Johnson and Evinrude will be around for many more years and there goal is still to become number 1 in the outboard market again.

Hey Joe I've got an OMC question for ya. I'm seeing a lot of 1999-2000 Evinrude left overs new in the crate for sale. Some local dealers and lots on ebay from dealers. Are these the time bomb engines that they can't unload? Some of the prices are unbelievable, I almost called on one in Mass. until I noticed it was a 99'. I'd love to go with a Rude someday when I repower I hope there still around.

THey will be still around. THere are some nice companys that are showing very strong interest in the company. One is one that I believe could do a even better job with its dealers than Bombardier and I would love to see them purchase the division. As for the 99 00 Evinrudes they should be ok if all the updates are done to them. I will make a phone call to double check but I believe bombardier will still honor the warry on these engines but only giving you a 1 year vrs the standard 3. Even though the price looks good I would wait till I could save a few extra bucks and go with a newer one.
