Briguy,
I may have mislead you a little. I have a Sceptre, so my drain holes are in the boxes beneath the pedestal seats, but I'm guessing they are plumbed similar to the CC's. I really don't get any rain water in the boxes though since we have a full bimini enclosure. When we do get water in there, it can be sponged out. |

Reel Smoker, I am confused- my fwd hatch has a thru hull that I use as a live bait well. In order to get it to fill with water I simply get someone to stand forward until it fills with enough water then plug it up. To drain it remove the plug and put the boat in gear and it drains. I dont know how you would drain it either with it plugged because of the rainwater I havent noticed water leaking thru- I recently removed the fitting and the bare area under the plastic thru hull had some type of epoxy around it and I think water-proof. I 4200'ed the new fitting back in place.

RS, great question. I've got the same set up on my 20 sceptre.
Miles, how did you do this weekend with the scupper project? If I remember, I'll call the previous owner to ask about the cockpit drains on my boat. |

Briguy thats a cocern, rain water. I'm not aware if when the hatch is closed water will get in. I checked the thru hull fitting and its in there as I installed it with 5200 a couple of months ago and its solid. I decided im going to leave alone. When I throw the cast net for cigar minnows they go everywhere its nice to open the hatch pull the plug and water it down everything goes out thru the hole.NJ Fishman yes its usually used as a fish box, I never liked the idea of draining into the bilge, this idea started because I thought It was leaking water in between the liner there but found out it is not thru that gap. I figured out were its coming from, thanks for the help. RS.

eBEACH, i BLANKED OFF AND FILLED THE SCUPS WITH WEST SYSTEM YESTERDAY. i PLAN ON LETTING IT DRY A COUPLE OF MORE DAYS AND THEN DRILL IT OUT.Sorry for the caps. craig
Update-I took a peak today when I got home, seems the west did fine on the outside of the boat but on the inside the west expanded up into the recessed well area. So hopefully it wont be too awful hard to sand off after I drill it out. I actually think its going to work out pretty good. This may sound a little weird...but, I'm thinking of connecting the foward two boxes on one drain line to the aft box and put a auto bilge pump in it. On my boat (23 CC twin i/o) the aft box is almost worthless anyway, it's only about 10"x18" and it does sit lower than the foward two.
I don't think any of those boxes could drain properly above the waterline. What do you guys think?
