Default baitwell hatch problems?

Salmon season started yesterday, and I,m still working on the boat. A sc18 1976.
1) Is there a bulkhead on the fwd side of the of the fwd wall of the baitwell?
2) I'm looking for a watertite hatch for the baitwell. 24 x 27 O.D. The closest I've come is a 19 x 27 od but only has a 14 x 22 opening, not very big. I'ts from anchor hatches in canada. West Marine, Freeman, bomar, tempress were all dead ends for me.
3)Do I have to build one myself?[LIST]

Try giving Marine Connection Liquidators in Ft. Pierce Florida a ring (772.465.6460). They have a whole bunch of hatches in something like 40-50 different sizes. If they don't have something that would work for you, you will likely have to make it or have a plastics shop build one for you.

These guys can make a custom stainless/aluminum hatch for you that is water tight and will not break the bank. I have 2 of them and they work great....

Thanks guys for the leads on hatches. I talked to randy the hatchman at marine liquidators this morning and he said they have thousands of hatches, but he would'nt be able to look for one until tomorrow. Is normal at this place?

As to it being normal, I can't say due to going in person and searching myself but the volume that they have in every category of boat item is staggering.

EL GRIEFO-

Marine Connection is as big if not bigger than your local COSTCO, so I would say it reasonable to give them some time to see if they have what you're looking for. The guys who work they're are pretty helpful, but I am sure it won't hurt to place a follow-up call if you don't hear back in a day or two.
