Default Re: Shipping a gas tank from Florida

I had an aluminum tank custom manufactured by Atlantic Coastal Welding, I believe they are in N.J. Total turn around time was about a week after I gave them the specs from my old tank. Not sure how much your tank may hold, but this was a 48 gallon tank and I paid about $400 with shipping to S.C. as I recall.

Striper, errr Repirts - check with all of the ground haulers, Roadway, GOD... I can't think they would turn away any freight companies. What are the dimensions on the tank?

Also, follow this Google link and check the link ads on the right side of the page: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...ipping+company

Ok, I'm too impatient to wait> So, bought a smaller tank (40 gal) locally and I'll install it Saturday. It will fit and if it proves too small for my needs, I'll find an excuse to go pick up the one in Fla. I'll probably be ok with the 40 gals because most of my fishing will be in Boston Habba and vicinity.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Now about my wiring!! But that's a mess for another time.

Capt Brad-

Believe it or not, the surfing in Boston (from September through March) is actually pretty good. With all the NorEasters, Hurricanes and other low pressure systems....we get a lot of good waves. If you can handle the cold water it is a lot of fun.
