Sounds like the TAG is an '86. The actual year of the boat MAY be hard to determine exactly.

I think you can be reasonably certain that it is a pre-'72 Potter hull. I also have a yellow 20' that had a metal tag for the hull ID number in place of where they are nowdays. They apparently weren't embossed into the hull/gelcoat until after '71 sometime, as my '71 didn't originally have hull ID numbers.
