Best prices on boat stuff!

I love boaters world, they are 20 - 40 % cheaper then west or boat us,,,, i got the same perko 1215 rodholders there for 24.99 / west marine wanted 42.99

For most boat stuff purchases, this is what i do;

(Since i believe West Marine/BoatUS are in bed together, eventually this should apply to either store)

1) Call BoatUS if they have one in stock and their price

2) Search the net and find the best price and print

3) Pickup at BoatUS (they match the internet price) and earn 5% back in rebates(can redeem at West Marine or BoatUS)
(i also use their BoatUS credit card to earn additional 3% in rebates .. presently BoatUS only! not West Marine purchases!)

4) Now the most important step ..... Hide (or burn) the monthly statements from your spouse!

BTW, at first i was not thrilled with these stores. Mainly because the employees know less than i do ... pretty scary! (Not the case with BoatUS in Danvers though, very knowledgeable experienced!). But now doing the research on products online and have the get in/out attitude in these stores works ...... kinda like shopping at Home Depot!
