Doug-

There is a place in Connecticut that specializes in rebuilding Evinrudes. I stumbled across them when I was getting quotes to have my old Yami rebuilt.

As I recall, there prices seemed reasonable, they offered a warranty and there references were good. I wound up going with a local guy because he was a bit less.

Anyway, I will see if I can dig up their name. It is something like the outboard connection. I think it is Mystic or Groton.

Doug,
If you had asked this question a week and a half ago, I could have sold you mine. We had the lower unit on our '89 225 replaced with a rebuilt one at the end of last season, and we just repowered 2 weeks ago. It's too bad because the rebuilt unit only had 2 hours on it due to the fact the engine crapped out on us the first day the boat was in this season. That engine has since been sold to a guy at our marina.

SECF-

That's the name of the place!

Here is a link to their website...
http://www.outboardexchange.com/outb...#Lower%20Units

A used lowerunit for the Evinrude starts at $800....and a rebuilt one is around $1600.

Lets us know how you make out. If it holds up....pass on the guys info to people on the site.
Does he only do Evinrudes or Yamis & MErcs too?
