I'm trolling for information on the engine mounts (or engines for that matter) Seacraft used on thier inboads in the mid '70s.
I'd like to replace my mounts, but can't find replacements. I don't want to replace the entire assembly, just the component that does the work with the isolating material in it. I believe the mounts are original, there has just been a few chevy small blocks bolted and rebolted to them. So, if I even knew who's engine the original was (crusader, marine power, rolls royce?), I could research it from that end. ...anyone replaced these pieces? |

i pulled my engine out my my 74 and it was a ford 265hp. i'm not positive but i think ford was the stock manufacturer for merc. in those days. i have the original owners manual for the engine and trs outdrive. if you need me to i will find it and see if it lists a part number.if you have a carquest in your area they are pretty good at getting these parts.

http://www.highwaymarine.com/ Mark- these guys have an online microfiche for Mercruiser, if thats the drive system you have. Just scroll thru the engine list till you find small block Chevy(262 thru 350 cid), the front mounts are listed under "engine mounting", the rear mounts will be found under "flywheel cover". Something to consider is checking over several year/displacements, many times things like engine mounts will interchange between them(check part #s)especially if all you need are the isolating rubber parts. One other thing to consider is that these mounts/bushings may need to be pressed out or into the brackets, easy if you have access to a press, challenging if not! I had to do a lot of research on this for a 3.0 mercruiser in a 70 Seacraft cc.
Good luck, Pat in MD |
