Default Vibration

My 1980 23CC has a vibration between 1100 & 1500 RPM. The engine is not missing a beat an runs perfectly at those power settings. I have a friend that has a later CSY 23 and has the same vibration at that RPM. I have been told that it could be in the hull. Sounds kinda crazy to me, but I have to ask. Does anyone else have this little anoyance.

I can not see the hull causing this kind of problem. If it is a outboard then this is the rpm range the idle and midrange jets start to fight one another. The engine does not know what jet to pull from thus causes a shake. This is just the nature of the carb 2 stroke. Most people do not feel it. Some engines do it more than others.

I'm sure that is it. I just installed an Armstrong bracket and closed in the transom and really don't remember the vibes before. My friend also has the same carb motor and has the same vibration with a standard transom.
