Re: Look familiar?
I agree that the boat is a Sea Craft, but its funny how the people involved with the boats say they are not. Like ScootM said they just changed it in 3 places ..round the corners and it looks like the flare maybe a bit more, but hell what do we know..we just look at these things everyday in our yards..

Re: Look familiar?
Yeh - this discussion has happened a few times. Trayder and I were checking out a 236 Sailfish at the show and it looked odd - even knowing that it was a certain Seacraft knockoff. It took a bit to register but we noticed that the strake that cuts thru the first hull plane at the bow is missing. Plus its nipped and tucked differently in the stern and there is a little more bow flair. The guy at the show was pretty good about it too. He said why should they try to hide that its based on one of the best hulls ever made... I was a little impressed with the Sailfish for the money, it had more value @ 40K than the real Seacraft 23 does at 68K (Mass pricing). The 266 streched Sailfish was OK too... The Sailfish 20 was a dead ringer...
I didn't talk to the guys at Silverhawk. They seemed to be mildly resenting the people streaming diaganoly across to the Seacraft booth. And the few double takes going back and forth. I wanted to get a close look at them but I really didn't want to take the shoes off. I will say that the cuddy they built was pretty sharp though. Who else knocks 'em off - Keywest, Casco Bay, who else? [ April 03, 2003, 08:07 AM: Message edited by: John R ]

Re: Look familiar?
I've worked on a few Casco Bays, the hull is a dead ringer but the liners are differant and I think they mold the console right into the floor. They put this stupid molded in box for the Fire ext. right were you would put the leg for a T-top.. drives me nuts. They look good with a T-top but the whole thing would look better if I could move that leg back 6"..oh well...

Re: Look familiar?
Key Largo 206 has the seacraft hull too. The 203 has a different hull.

Re: Look familiar?
Hey good picture for comparison BigShrimpin... i havent seen a seacraft without bottom paint to compare the pics to, the lines look pretty damn exact, correct me if im wrong. Good thread, atleast people can do their own research and decide its a copy than listen to some salespitch from silverhawk as in "its a totally different boat, and its been completely retooled" what a joke: not that it isnt a nice boat but for all that money? It's a seacraft.
