Chuck,
Did you replace the "OJ Special" with an Expedition?
Chuck has to drive the OJ Special because he doesn't have a job (other than this non-paying CSC gig) and Lil has to do all the work. She has the sweet ride...

When I bought my new 6,000 lb Loadmaster aluminum float on with Stainless Steal bolts and torsion axels and just regular disk brakes and a spare tire back in 2001 I paid $2,600 from Loadmaster themselves. After I splashed the boat my regular disk brakes lasted approx
1 ½ years and I had to replace them and went with Kodiak SS which cost me approx another $600. That brought me up to $3,200 my guess since trailers have gone up since then you are looking at $3,500 to $4,000 but I could be wrong. You will need to price a few companies yourself. That used one looks pretty interesting, but the balance would be off for your 23'. That could or perhaps not be a problem.

I just bought a Nextrail trailer this last summer for my 25' grady, upgraded the surge brakes to both axles, got aluminum mag wheels, spare tire with mag , all stainless bolts, and the new bearing lube system, all delivered to my house in Ohio for under $4000. 7000# load capacity. Haven't done a lot of trailering with it yet, but the little I have done it seems to be ok. The two rear(main) bunks were preset to my boat. I didn't have have to adjust them - just the front two. I thought I had a problem with the trailer at first, called the company and they got right back to me. - I would buy another from them. good luck

Sorry to hear you missed an opportunity. 1 good thing came out of it though....now you have a consensus of best trailer application for the boat. An aluminum "Float On" is really what a classic deserves.

Ha Darkside;

You might be a little to small on that trailer.
3000 for the boat
500 motor
1000 gas
500 stuff
1000 trailer
6000 lbs.
And that’s not counting the 2 Swordfish coming back from your trip and 250 lbs each.
