Well, as I recall you were stepping on your tongue on top of the platform "pushing" Ikan & Myself around that flat in the Marquesas! Oh Yeah, I forgot, it was one of those heavy hulls, a 16' Hells Bay bannana boat with 40HP

I know Charles,I'm gettin old.I've got an older Shipoke hull now and it's really, really hard to push around. But since I almost killed someone comming back from the Marquesas in the Hells Bay(wind started honking out of the south right against a falling tide making the pass about 5 feet)I figured I'd better get alittle more boat under me.Anyway, poling is highly overated, just stake 'er out and wait on the passing shots!

I love my Shipoke! Best riding skiff I have ever owned, but a bear to pole.I bought it to tarpon fish,so I mostly stake out with it,or push her in 3 feet or so.It was owned by Cecil Keith who was one of the finest Islamorada guides there ever was,so I figure the boat has some serious karma.
