trayder...web links
Trayder..Reading the responses to all of the questions on the site I notice that sometimes a member attaches a web link to his response. I always click on the link to open the site and see the relevant info. I think these are a great help but, over time they may be forgotten. Is there a way to have these links forwarded to a new heading under the forum area to make them accessible ???

Re: trayder...web links
This very question popped into my head the other day, kind of a reference section to marine merchants, suppliers, and services sort of thing...

Re: trayder...web links
I don't think there is any way for this board to parse for embedded links without some hacking of the code, and Trayder ain't no Software Hakah
I tend to keep a TXT file on my desktop that I can quickly cut & paste to when needed. I also have a bazillion favorites. Thats a great suggestion but I do not think its easily attainable with this forum software... Really Good Idea though...

Re: trayder...web links
Software hacker I am not , as JohnR mentions . But I agree we should have an area on the site that has links to sites that provide services or products benificial to us.
I have been so busy lately I have been unable to put new pictures up in 3 weeks so I will listen to what you guys want and take it from there |

Re: trayder...web links
Amoung the people doing substantial refits, many are looking for the same items: steering wheels, consoles, leaning posts, electronics, rod holders, engines, tops, etc. In the end, many of us wind up at the same spots (Marine Connection Liquidators, Consumers Marine Electronics, Birdsall, and so forth).
Even a post that could be updated periodically with the web links or phone numbers to these places would help future people to save time over the searches that the rest of us have already done. Due to the time that future people would save by getting the links from the rest of us rather than searching around on their own, it would only be fair that a case of beer is sent to those that did the initial work Here is a potential start: BOAT RELATED LINKS= www.birdsallmarine.com - misc boat items www.consumersmarine.com - electronics www.donssalvage.com - consoles MCL - 772.465.6460 - 30,000 sq ft of boat stuff www.fsmarine.com - cheap stainless steering wheels www.acconmarine.com - stainless hinges, cleats, etc www.edsonintl.com - wheels and other related items www.seatow.com - best $99 you will ever spend www.boattops.com - t-tops and leaning posts(Florida) www.qualitymarinefab.com - tops and leaning posts www.hermco.com - engine brackets www.armstrongmarine.com - engine brackets www.seastarsteering.com - hydraulic steering Wildfire Marine, 772.286.1925 - fiberglass work, FL www.boattraderonline.com - where the disease starts .....I'm thinking Becks Dark |
