Default This is not a lie - 27' footer on top of Jetty

Today on my way out the mouth of the Merrimack River Inlet, I saw a 27-28 SeaRay type sitting high & dry ON TOP of the South Jetty. He must have been 10feet out of the water. I guess the owner parked it there on Friday night. I wish I had a camera

Dont know the details just yet.....but the guy had to be hammered to wind up where he did. If he broke down, he would have smashed into the jetty and not launched himself where he was.

The guys from TOWBOAT & Seatow where all there waiting to begin the salvage operation.

Details to follow.

PS- I saw a very nice blue Seacraft 20'with Mariner outboard headed southbound on I-95 near Georgetown, Ma at about 12:45pm today. Whoever owns it...she looked good.

I've seen simular on the breakwall in Oswago NY a few years back. The boat was sitting on top of it and the wall must be 20' high. Two dudes died and two kids where ok.
One of the most F'd up things I've seen.
I think I have pic's somewhere.

On a similar topic a buddy of mine wound up beached on a sandbar left his boat till next morning for hi tide to come in, and seatow had already laid a salvage claim on it and had already yanked it off the bar. Now he's fighting them in court. Bummmer

I support the 4 boat, 4 girl theory if they own seacrafts, >

Years Ago, Before Seatow, a large Bertram radioed the CoastGuard asking for help for they were aground. The Coast Guard was launching their Whaler to assist when the Captain radioed from the Betram and cancelled their distress call, stating they were going to wait til High Tide and float off. The Coast Guard radioed back and replied. "Sir, It IS high tide!" Something I'll never forget.

Leave it to the Sea Ray types to get in a jam like that!

So Ed, how did the boat run? Hopefully all went well.

On my way back from the Cape yesterday morning around 10:00 I saw a really nice bare hull 20 CC in F.L.Y. on route 3 southbound by the N. Plymouth/Kingston exit. Any local CSC member doing a resto? Sweet looking boat.

Mark, that's a shame that somebody would throw away a perfectly good Viking like that! Makes me want to cry when I see a rig like that on the rocks.

Scott-

The boat ran very well. On Friday, some Merrimack River junk ( a wood splinter) got stuck in the pisser valve while I was out ( a little bit of a scare) but when i noticed that water was still coming out of the exhaust, I breathed a sigh of relief. i cleaned out the pisser valve on saturday morning and took her out for a 4 hour spin on Sunday. Everything seems to be working a -ok.

Go to the link below to see pictures of the boat wrecked on the jetty...it was a 32' Chapparall. The owner was drinking and was following the shoreline to find his way home. What a dope!
