Default Annual Cape Cod Trip

I will be visiting friends in So. Wellfleet 10-01 thru 10-11. Will not have the SC with me but plan to fish as much as possible. 19' CC moored just south of harbor. Day trip to Billings Gate. Local Buggy Pass to Race Point. No surf rods but have done well on ocean side with small med. weight rods and reels. Any info., suggestions appreciated. Like to see another Seacraft while on the Cape.

Hi Vezo-

I am in Yarmouth and the fishing on Cape is great right now. You will find plenty of fish in the bay if you have access to a boat. Wellfleet harbor should be loaded with stripers and blues, lots of top water action too!

I love Race Point for surf fishing. It is the best spot on Cape Cod, hands down. You'll love it!

Check out www.onthewater.com for recent info, great website, and magazine too.

Gimme a ring or drop me an email if you need more specific directions.

Vezo - beach pass on the Race is cool but I like the Truro beaches myself - bring eels ....

Should be GREAT fishing then...

I agree John, those Truro beaches can be unreal in the fall. I remember reading a few years ago about a guy who took a 60 pound bass at high noon while his wife and kids were shopping???

Do you remember that story??? Molly Benjamin wrote about it I think.

Hoop,
I think that is the fish that Frank Daignault talks about whenever he does presentations at fishing shows. From what I remember (if we're talking about the same fish), it was caught in July during the middle of the day (Wellfleet/Truro area) while the guy was on vacation. He was at the beach with his kids and threw a chunk out and caught a slob...lucky b#st#rd . I believe he won the Governor's Cup that year.
