Cape Cod Carter ?
Well my boss is retiring soon and spending a month on the Cape. He's invited 3 of us up to stay over and then do a 1/2 day fishing trip. Now I could tow my boat all the way up there for just a half day, but I'm thinking it might be smarter to just take a 1/2 day charter.Anyone know of a charter to recommend, or even what to expect to pay, or if it's too late? We're looking at Friday morning June 28. Thanks.

Re: Cape Cod Carter ?
Steve - thanks for the reply. You know, it really doesn't matter, none of the guys are real hard core, in fact another question would be what to target, maybe even flukin, or even blues (sorry John, I know it's a striper board), I don't even know whats happening on the Cape in late June, thats one of my secret reasons for telling them it might be smarter to charter- you know , I drag the blonde up there - now what? A day in my boat, trying to figure out the program, or a charter guy who knows what's happening. As far as area, thats open too - we can drive to P-town if thats smart - doesn't really matter either.I guess we just want to have a good time, and catch some fish.As for me,I will bring the boat up - maybe that is the better way to go. I'm sure I could get some guidance from you guys if I do, but I just want to check out the options. For example, even though I have a boat right here in Ct. I still charter every spring with a captain who is just the best. So, I'm just looking for suggestions.

Re: Cape Cod Carter ?
BillyBob-
I am starting a charter business, small as it may be, aboard my 23' c/c, Melissa Ann. I am fishing from Parker River in Yarmouth. I would be glad to take your party out to do bass, blues, fluke, cod, whatever you guys want, even just a trip to Monomoy to gawk at seals; there is lots to see and catch (ask Steve!). I am priced very reasonably as I am trying to get established. If you would like to discuss it more, emailme at ggibbons@attbi.com I can do the 28th of June, but the 29th, by bride to be would bitch, that wedding thing you know....but the 28this mearly a rehearsal!!!! Have to fish when you can right??? Take care, Gordon |

Re: Cape Cod Carter ?
Steve, no problem if fact we all have days like that sometimes don't we? Try either number I left you and eventually we'll connect. Love your boat by the way, it looks brand new and it looks better than the Silverhawks I see in town being sold for 75K. What type of Mariner came on your SC? I have a 1997 225hp EFI. I have heard this is a good engine, but when it comes to engines, I am weak! Hope to learn more about outboards, but gradually please!~~

Re: Cape Cod Carter ?
BillyBob - sorry I didn't get back to you on the other board... The people I know and would recommend are in Rhody, Bahstin, & New Bedford. I don't know any Outer Cape charters that I feel comfortable recommending ( I need to experience or people I trust tell me). 2 guys I've gone out with out of Barnstable (a few years ago) I've been less than impressed with... I don't find trollin' an umbrella rig particularly exciting as live bait fishing or casting and working plugs/eels/plastics into the rocks and "working" for fish...
Now if you want big bass - the best I guy I've seen is Capt Gary Corsetti out of RI but he goes about anywhere. 4+ people could also be tight on his boat - a 21 Contender. And it's a "working" charter, no h'ordeourves and scotch ... He usually works from Block to the Islands and is REAL GOOD... If you want an excellent charter for the Islands... I can get you his number if you're interested but again, he's probably not the right guy if your out halfway up the Cape (He may even be booked by now )
