I am new to this forum and ask for your indulgence. I am considering purchasing a new 23' Seacraft.
A few questions: How much does the hull construction vary from the original boats? Is that beneficial or detrimental? Is the boat available with the owner's power of choice (i.e., Yamaha)? Would a 225HP four-stroke outboard provide adequate power? Are there any dealers who are highly recommended? Thank you, in advance, for your assistance! I know of one guide who was on the Yamaha pro deal and managed to get a new SeaCraft with an engine other than the Mercury's that they usually come with. I've not heard of any other success stories in that department.

I am pretty sure it is dealer dependant. I know many are rigged with Hondas. My good friend just purchased a new 23 with a 225 Honda and according to him the dealer offered the boat with Bombardier and Yamaha power as well. He enjoys the 225 4 stroke very much. As for construction much has changed details are found with in this forum. The design is however, still the same.
You should probably read this: More Details |

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your replies to my inqury. Apparently, the replies from all of the dealers to whom I sent email's regarding Yamaha power were all the same: Mercury power only. The fuel tank situation as described disqualifies the boat immediately. I appreciate your time and congratulate you on such an informative and well structured website. Regards, Paul |

The 23 regulator is a Much much better boat in my view, you should look at one. My 2 cents!
