Default Anyone know about a CT boat with Yanmar?

Hey gents-

A couple of years back I remember seeing for sale a sweet blue 20 Seacraft that was totally rebuilt and had a Yanmar diesel. I think the owner lived in Newtown, CT . The boat was totally set up for flyfishing The asking price was something very high....I think $39,000.

Just wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of this boat. Would like to see it posted on this site.

I think Billybob purchased his unfinished 23 from the same guy, something about a gent in Newtown, CT who re-does SeaCrafts? Hopefully BillyBob can fill in here?

A gentleman by the name of Roger Sartini of Sartini Boat Works in Westport, MA just built a T-Top and did some glass work for the exact boat you mentioned. He just finished it about 2 weeks ago. Roger was telling me he saw the guy's boat was on the cover of "Saltwater Fishing" or some other big name fishing magazine.

A t-top? You're breaking my heart.

That boat looked beautiful without one....I couldn't imagine a better set-up for light tackle and flyfishing.

I was under the impression that this was the CT boat that you are referring to:

http://thehulltruth.com/6/ubb.x?a=tp...31&m=716607131

In this thread the owner talks about how he bought it in CT....

http://thehulltruth.com/6/ubb.x?a=tp...561#1306044561

Everytime I look at that Seacraft I begin to drool uncontrollably....

When you figure that the Yanmar + tranny/trolling valve cost around 20K+ the asking price for that beautiful boat while high was not unreasonable...

Deepsushi-

That's a very nice boat, but I'm not sure if that is the one I remember seeing for sale. I thought the one I remember seeing for sale was smaller, maybe a 20, and was Robin's Egg blue, not Seafoam Green. It had a Yanmar too, but for some reason I think it was also a straight inboard and not an i/o setup, like most 20's. Is that even possible for a 20 to be a straight inboard?

Who knows, I could be totally off my rocker and that could be the boat.

Matt-

The boat that I am thinking of was advertised for a long time in the Fisherman magazine/boattrader/& On the water magazines and it was a 23. I can remember the add which read:

23 seacraft inboard/yanmar...totally set up for offshore fly fishing/popup cleats/ 600+ mile range/ caravan 64 roller trailer/ quick change oil system/ trolling valve /cruise speed 28 knots burning 3.8 gph/ max speed 38 knots. At one point the price dropped to $36,900. It did not have a T-top when it was for sale...

I spent many a day/night trying to figure out a way to come up with the $$$$ to buy this boat.

To the best of my knowledge the only straight inboards were 23 foot "Potter" seacrafts and later there were a few 27 foot inboards made by CSY.

Maybe John R. can search through his "archived seacraft ads tomb" on his 'puter and come up with a 20 foot diesel?

Deep Sushi-

Yeah, that sounds like the boat. I guess it was a 23. So is it the one that is now in Maryland??
