Default 20 Seafari w/ 4 cyl i/o

Guys,

For an e-beer, can any 20 Seafari owners please tell me what performance to expect from a 4 cyl i/o, properly tuned and propped, etc. Cruise, WOT, fuel consuption. Any comments on this hull configuration.

I have not floated her and am dying to know.

Oh, yea, this not a TEST.

Otto

Otto if I had to guess I would say you should cruise on plane at about 3500rpm and may see a speed of 18mph. Top rpm should fall around 4500rpm and speeds in the upper 20's. If you want great all around performance ask your dealer about a Alpha 4 series prop. These 4 blade props work great on the 4 cylinder engines. Fuel consuption depends on the year of the package but the 4 cyl. no matter what year sips fuel.

EBeach,

Thanks for reminding me of that article. It was great. Thats EXACTLY this boat! According to their tests, they cruised at 19 MPH at 5.3 MPG, but also found a WOT of 36 or something. It will cruise at 30 MPH at 3500 RPM at 4+ MPG! I can live with that.
