Hey gents-
Just wanted to let you all know that those shiny new TACO outriggers that I bought way back in April at the Dania marine flea market were welded on this week. Pictures will be forthcoming. The guys at KentFab Engineering in Norwell, MA did a great job and even modified the "outrigger deployment handle" with a slight downward bend so that I don't bust my knuckles on the t-top when I swing them out. I also had them make me a "secret fishing device" that will also be revealed when the pictures are ready. Can't you tell that I bored stiff these days? Ed |

I am in the market for the same Taco outrigger setup. What is the best price/source anyone has found?

John B-
I think I was very lucky with my deal.I bought the entire setup for $600 from the Scouts Boat booth at the Dania Marine flea market. The $600 included (2) 15' 1.5" diameter TACO outrigger poles, (2) TACO grand slam mounts, rigging lines and all hardware and backing plates. The only other thing I had to purchase was a TACO weld on extrusion plate (mounting plate) from Consumer Marine Electronics for about $85. From what I've been told by some friends in the industry...my deal was way below what they would pay for it wholesale (around $900). With that said, give Marine Connection Liquidators a call....they had numerous sets on display when I was there in the spring. Also, I would buy the 1.5" diameter poles and the Grand Slam mounts.....from what I've been told....the 1.25" diameter poles flex too much. Good luck. Ed |

I told you that was a good deal !!!!! (even after a few beers, I could do that simple math)
Congrats, in my opinion they are the best product available - however, they do not holdup well in certain conditions....just don't attempt docking for cocktail parties at neighbor's waterfront homes who have large, overhanging trees at t-top level with 450 ponnies at the touch of the throttle which is mounted next to the drinkholder which has 2 dead soldiers in it. (Taco has an excellent warranty/service department just north of Miami on I-95.....) |

Ed, I'm sure the photos of your setup will be great.
However, what I want to see are the photos from Tom's example of what to be careful of, now those could really be good |

I am headed down to the "MC Liquidators" on Ft Pierce on Fri morning. If anyone is looking for something specific, let me know, I will take a digital camera, and shoot some pictures if that would help. Gonna get some Taco outriggers to mount on the top of the boat.
