DESPERATE FOR A 20 OR 23 ON WESTCOAST
I am looking for a 20 or a 23 on the westcoast - I am in Vancouver (originally from Bermuda - so I am the only person north of LA who knows anything about Seacrafts I think)
The eastcoast boats are a little too far away - trucking will run USD 3,000 - which puts a boat out of the running Please let me know - mglusing@axion.net |

Re: DESPERATE FOR A 20 OR 23 ON WESTCOAST
Mark - there was a couple recently in Cali on boattrader.com & yachtworld.com . Check often but these boats have had a history of showing up after a couple weeks offline. You're still going to need to travel a bit... Good luck.

Re: DESPERATE FOR A 20 OR 23 ON WESTCOAST
I have already made contact with these people - the boat is a 20 and not a 22 or 23 as i had hoped.
Unfortunately the hull is black and would need to be totally re-done. I am getting some better pictures of the boat and will let everyone know about the results - not too far to trailer from cali. i am also looking at a 23 in cali - outboard with two original 115 mercs - too expensive though as I would be looking at big $$ to repower. The one you showed me might be the one - bracket and put an outboard on it , ttop and re-awgrip and off to the races. Thanks for keeping me in mind. |

Re: DESPERATE FOR A 20 OR 23 ON WESTCOAST
Thanks Deep,
I have seen it and spoke with the guy - he is selling it for a friend of his (or the estate of a friend due to a passing). For my use and plans - I need a CC or the cc version with the cabin. There is a very nice 23 cc with the cabin here on the coast as well - the problem is it has original 115 Mercs and he wants USD 10,000 for the boat and will not discount the fact that almost 30 year old engines are not worth very much! Thanks for keeping me in mind - I am still the high bidder for the 20' on ebay at USD 2025 - someone will knock me off I am sure. RGds |

Re: DESPERATE FOR A 20 OR 23 ON WESTCOAST
I am in the L.A. area and bought a 23' Sceptre cc two years ago. I is the only Sea Craft I have ever seen in Souther California. People around here only have heard of them but there reputation has reached So.Cal. I have been working on mine sense I bought it and have it just about the way I want it. I fish off shore and it is fantastic even when the weather gets snotty. This is my first off shore boat and I just lucked out finding it. I really didn't know about the boat until I found this one for sale. The guy selling the boat educated me on the qualitly and reputation of the Potter built Sea Craft, I listened to his story and believed what I heard, I best move I ever made.
Check out the Allcoast fishing website, there was one for sale a couple of months ago down this way, I think it was a project boat. If anyone has a owners manual or any info and specs about a 1974 23'3'' cc I would appreciate getting my hands on them. I would gladly pay for copying and mail or they could be e-mailed. I just found this web site and have found it very interesting and informative. Roy [ October 27, 2002, 01:33 AM: Message edited by: bad megos ] |
