Damn!'

If that is true....god bless him. I'm lucky if I could reel in an old tire on 20lb test.

John,

Thanks for posting the photo for me. These guys gave me the first bluefin meat I've ever tried a few days before they did this. I met them on the docks in Beaufort one night after dinner and heard they had been trying for the record for a month or so.

The previous record mentioned in the newspaper article was done on a fly rod, with Bill Harris captaining a 25' Contender for Brad Kistler to catch the fish on a 14wt Sage rod and Charlton 8550 reel.

Tackle or the 248# was Cape Fear 20-30 rod with Tiagra 30WLRS reel.

Must have been a work out.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">And I'm sure not the last piece of bluefin you'll ever have! Boy is that stuff good, especially after a few days in the fridge when it's left to tenderize. A little soy sauce and some sesame seeds, a couple minutes in a pan on each side. Oops, I'm drooling again!

that sounds just about how it went. I got it at night after dinner, it was in the fridge for 18 hours or so and then we fired up the grill and put in on there for about 10 seconds per side. Add the soy and wasabi and I was trying to think if I was up to putting the 30's on some stout rods and going meat fishing!

It is good when rolled in soy sauce and sesame seed and then quickly brazed on the grill for a minute.

However, good tuna always test best when prepared raw (sashimi). Yum, yum, yum. Damn, now I want sashimi for lunch.

Now how am I supposed to get any work done when I keep reading about food (and I was hungry to begin with!)?

That's it, I'm going to lunch!!
