Default Need Help, Juno Beach FL

Hello Folks-

In 2 weeks We will be bringing our 20 down to Key West for some R&R.

We will be spending 2 days at a Hotel in Juno Beach before hitting the Keys. I am a tad uneasy about unhooking the boat and leaving it unattended in the Hotel Parking lot while my better half and I go to dinner, hit the shops, etc. I also do not want to leave the boat attached to the Truck while we do the aforementioned. (There is not enough parking at my favorite resturant "the reef" )

My questions:

1: Am I nuts to worry about boat theft in the Juno Beach area ( it seems like a great place but I am not a local)

2: Any ideas on a safe short term storage solution?

Thanks in advance.

Trayder

Your are welcome to leave it at my house on the trailer or in the water at my dock. I'm 20-30 min to Juno. I have plenty of room

Trayder,

Go with the Capt Chuck option. When you leave two days later, simply take his 23' and he will merely think his boat shrank a bit

Ha Trayder
I would leave boat Plus stay a day fishing in Stuart that is in the middle of Sailfish season down here and Stuart is the Sail fish capital I have had 15 Sails on in one day up there. But it is also the middle of Mutton Snapper season in Key West plus lots of Black Fin tuna and lots of Grouper to be had in Key West on live bait. Looks like you are going to have lots of fun I hope you will be staying long enough to enjoy it all.

TX Fellowship-

I do plan on fishing a bunch in Key West but I have a feeling, if the weather cooperates snorkeling/diving will be on the agenda as well. My better half, athough a trooper, is not too big a fan of fishing. Altogether we will spend 2 weeks in Key West. I need to get a cast net and start practicing!!!!

Trayder-Juno is 15 minutes south from my folks home on the Loxahatchee River in Jupiter. You can leave your pride and joy there in a very safe place.Their extra lot has become a popular trailer parking spot. And, if you accidentally take my dad's 18SF instead of yours, he won't mind! You can catch all the bait you need on those little sabaki hook rigs. If you through a net down there you will need a 12’ since the bait are usually in 20’ of water and will swim under the net before it closed on smaller nets. Sometimes you will find bait in 3’ of water and then it doesn’t make a difference in the size of your net. I usually use sabaki rigs work great and really doesn’t take to much time to get all you need in a short time. There are a few Classic SeaCraft members that live in Key West I am sure they would give you some good locations of where to go if you contact them. Have lots of fun

Snookered- Thanks for the offer, but I am going to be leaving at Capt. Steele's place.

JohnS- I will definitly see you guys in April in Dania but I promised my better half we would not make too many stops before Key West. We are staying right off Duval and the boat will be in rack storage at Garrison Bight.

Fellowship- I want to get some Pilchards when in Key West so I think some cast net practice will be a must. If I get to tangled up I will have plenty of sabikis on board
