I am Bobby and I am a new member looking for a new 23cc. I just sold a 1987 23cc with a full factory transom that I rewired and repainted with AwlGrip. I also remember the days of going offshore on my dad's 27' inboard, caught our first blue marlin on that boat. I have worked as a charter boat mate for several years, and I am currently leaving my job as an engineer on a tugboat to persue a career in boat repair in Annapolis MD.

Bobby,
Welcome to the site! You need to feed our addiction and let us know how the ride is on the 27 inboard . Seems that is the one boat none of the members have been on yet.

Scott, It has been a while since I have seen that boat. I do not remember if it had the VDH or not, but it did have propeller pockets and it was heavy. The boat would go about 20 kts and it rode fairly well but it was not the type of impressive ride of the smaller SeaCrafts. Maybe the 27' outboard was better. Personally I would not want one because of the power needed to move it, you are limited in the engine room space, and it was kind of ugly. In my opinion SeaCraft made great outboards but when it comes to inboards of that size there are better options.
