Can you guys help me out on this....?
Found myself in a SeaCraft chat on another board. Here is the link....
http://www.noreast.com/discussion/vi...topic_ID=23375 Were the Potter 1970 era 23's rated to 500hp???? If so, I am very surprised to learn that.... Many Thanks, Hooper |

I believe the 23 was rated to 400 hp but I could be wrong.

Re: Can you guys help me out on this....?
Hey Hoop
I think it was 350hp in the early 70'S and then increased in the later years to 400hp. I seriously doubt 500hp would pass USGC standards for a 2600 pound hull 1975 http://www.classicseacraft.com/Performancespecs.htm 1978 http://www.classicseacraft.com/23SFSpecifications.htm

Re: Can you guys help me out on this....?
Hoop,
I read your post, very nice explanantion of the whole "SC thing". Based on the specs listed on this site, the Potter CCs were rated to 400hp and the Sceptres to 500. I believe CSY carried the same ratings because my father's '82 Sceptre is rated for 500 also. |

Re: Can you guys help me out on this....?
My dad bought a 1977 Sceptre in the late summer of 1977. I have 2 brochures and 1 brochure which I believe is a 1976 one, rated the 23 Sceptre, 23 Flybridge, 23 Hardtop, 23 savage, and the 23 Seavette all at 500 max HP. The 23 cc was rated at a max of 400 hp. The other brochure which I believe is a 1978 one rated both the Sceptre and the CC at 400 max hp. The Seavette and the Flybridge are not listed in this brochure. The part I am not sure about is the year of each brochure, but they both had to be either 1976,77, or 78.
