Re: fuel tank
This is not exact but close length x width x depth then take that number and divide by 243 gives you approx gallons of beer or such like liquid. Remember there is the thickness of the materials used to construct the tank and 4 to 6 flow dividers inside the tank as well.

Re: fuel tank
So I just measured my tank at 99x28x12, which if I figure correctly gets me about 143 gallons give or take a few.
I have a '85 23'and there is still about 2 more feet of room in front of the tank. Is this where some people add a fresh water tank? Dink Dink |

Re: fuel tank
I replaced my 133 gallon last year. You may consider moving the tank forward, depending on the stern weight, reducing the size of the tank or installing 2 seporate tanks. Just a thought...

Re: fuel tank
Ha Dink
99 x 28 = 2,772 x 12 = 33,264 divided by 243 = 136.89 gallons. Remember that is a ball park if you talked to a glass aquarium guy with thicker walled material he would divide by 231. but as we all know aluminum is a lot thinner. FellowShip |

Re: fuel tank
Ha Dink
Sorry I miss led you on the aquarium guys one dividing by 231 that’s correct by measuring the INSIDE OF THE TANKS where we are measuring the OUTSIDE OF THE TANKS. FellowShip |

Re: fuel tank
Ha Dink
I put in a 84 x 28 x 12 tank in my 23 CC fit perfect with out loosing the hatch in front of the center consol. I moved by tank forward approx 12 to 18 “ forward from the transom area and increased length from 72 to 84” by doing that I redistributed the center balance of my boat forward plus added more gas now approx 117 gal. I also put two batteries and 15 gal fresh water tank under the CC which also moved weight forward. Then I built a live well and moved it from the transom to where the newer SeaCrafts have their live well directly behind the leaning post seat. All this moving weight forward has caused my boat to ride much better in the water. If you look at this picture you will see how she how evenly sits in the water. http://www.theboatzone.com/gallery/fs01/fs23_2 FellowShip |

Re: fuel tank
Fellowship
I love the room and access you have into you console. I wish CSY kept the older design of the console. I have a forward seat with small livewell / cooler area built into my console so the access is only through the back , while I'm laying on my belly. Anyway, I'm considering moving my batteries from the rear corner wells to under the console, just because it's a drier spot. As far as the tank is concerned, I'm about to remove the old tank and inspect the bottom. It is foamed in on the sides, and is sitting on a bed of glass and 3/4 " plywood. The bed is attached to the hull along the outside edges where the large box stingers are. There is no center stringer on this boat for the tank to rest on. I hope I've explained this so you understand. I know the back edge of the wood is wet and will have to see how bad this piece is. The wood does have glass on both sides of it, unlike some other members boats who have indicated their bases were only top coated in glass. Dink |
