Default Does it turn clockwise or counterclockwise?

Im trying to figure out which side to mount my new 'ducer. Its a left hand wheel and I "believe" it turns "counter". Wanted to run it by you guys before I put the boat on a lift to install. I cant remember but looking at the blades I think it goes left. thanx- BTW (Chuck) I put the new ducer in a bag of water and set it in the bilge to try out the new bottom machine last week and "play". it is sweet !!!! Thanx guys

Craig
As I see the picture… That would be counter ....

As you look at the wheel from behind ... the left side of a blade is further forward (leading edge) and the right side is closer to you (trailing) ....then it spins counterclockwise. in forward of course
Looks like you already have a transducer on the left side of the wheel … Does it get effected by prop wash??

Yep, it spins counter-clockwise and you want the ducer on the port side of the hull.

Not to confuse things, but with a counter-rotating/lefthand prop, wouldn't you want the 'ducer on the starboard side away from the wash? I was just reading a post about this the other day and with a right-hand prop the suggestion was to mount on the port side, so in Craig's case you would do the opposite, right?

My furuno installation manual says to mount it on the opposite side of the wash so then I guess would mean the stbd side. The ducer that is on the port side really didnt do to bad either . thanx guys-craig

I don't remember if mine specifically said that or not. I do however, remember it having a pic showing a standard rotation outboard and the trans was mounted on the stbd. side of the boat. I took that pic to mean that the transducer should be on the side of the prop where it is making a downturn so it is pulling any turbulance away from the transducer. On the side where the prop is swinging up, the prop will be throwing trashy water at the transducer.

I don't know if that theory is correct or not but it made sense to me.
