Default Fuel cost - informal survey

I know nobody really wants to discuss this, but was curious what your feelings were.

1. What's the current marina price for 89 octane? ($2.32)

2. Will the price of fuel make you do less boating? (No)

3. Will the price of fuel make you consider a smaller boat or more fuel efficient motor? (No. Gotta love that 115 4 stroke)

4. Will the price of fuel have any effect on your vote in November (no comment...

I try my best not to mix the reality of costs with my Dream Boat. Thus I don’t want to even think about gas costs. It will not effect me on what I do, when or where I go fishing. But I will say I am sure glad I only have one 225 on the back of my boat. I wonder if it will effect any of my fishing friends I invite out with me, when at the end of the day they pull out their wallets to help split the costs of the day? Otto, my thoughts are as follows
1. the gas at my marina is 2.96/gallon...I think its 91 octane
2. I might drift a little more. trolling will have to wait
3.smaller boat ? no way .I have a 350 gm volvo duoprop so I'm already 4 stroke
4. no effect on my vote. whoever is in the white house will not change my quiet time on the boat away from the wife and 3 kids.

I'm on a mooring, but I still need those marinas for my fuel...
1) $2.80 at the closest marina to me ($2.70 with BoatUS card)
2) Nope, but like catman, I may do more drift fishing than trolling.
3) Never! I just got my 'Bird, there's no way I'm getting rid of it yet.
4) No.

The way I see it, if you worry about the fuel price all the time, you won't enjoy the boat. Yes, the high prices hurt the old wallet, but the boat is for fun, so fuel it up and get out there!

I wait a long cold winter here in the great white north and I'm not going to let high gas prices spoil my summer! I have been thinking of a four stroke more for low noise and no smoke more than any savings at the gas pump. ( 8,500.00 will buy a lot of high priced gas.)Already moved down to a small boat thinking of moving back up. Might be some good deals soon! Might go for the four boat theory. I say your a long time dead and you cant take it with so enjoy now! My .02 Scotty.

Otto

(1) I paid $2.50 yesterday for mid-grade

(2) No

(3) Yeah Maybe, That 250hp of mine is mighty thirsty
How about a 300HP 4-Stroke? Of coarse another boat is a great alternative so I can show off more HDS Stickers

(4) Watch out for the come-back of the Three Stooges

Im considering getting rid of my truck to save on fuel but never the seacraft.

1. What's the current marina price for 89 octane? (2.50)

2. Will the price of fuel make you do less boating? (No), but it will eliminate most if not all of my offshore fishing(which hasnt been much anyways in recent years)

3. Will the price of fuel make you consider a smaller boat or more fuel efficient motor? (No. gotta love that inboard!!!
4. Will the price of fuel have any effect on your vote in November (no comment..., ummmmm possible but doubtful.

fuel at the Wentworth in Newcastle, NH was $2.49 a gallon yesterday. sure to go up after memorial day weekend.

i am considering getting a diesel car and converting it to run on kitchen grease, i am also going to put solar panels on my house to heat hot water.

hopefully leaving me more money to buy gas for my seacraft.

$2.55 for 93 octane at my marina. Won't stop me, just pass the increase on to my anglers with a $25 surcharge.
