Default Lap strake hull?

There's a guy around here who has a center console lap strake hull with the straight inboard. It has the Sea Craft emblem on it. Did SC ever make a lap strake hull boat? I think that the boat was built in 77-78. I had originally passed it off as someone just put the Sea Craft name on a Texas Dory, but now I'm not sure.

There are no lap strake SeaCrafts. Your local dude is a SeaCraft imposter. Please report him to the proper authorities...

Yea, I pretty much knew it but wasn't 100% sure. In a nice about way I did question his boat being a Sea Craft . I explained to him that all SC's that I was familiar with had the variable dead rise hull.

I know ChrisCraft used to make a nice 22' CC with the lapstrake look and an inboard engine.

Yea, it could be a Chris Craft Cutlass. Did it look like this? http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listi...g_id=4624&url=

Scott, The Chris Craft looks similar, but I don't think that it's the same boat. If I remember the hull# started off with TXY.

Ok, I'm sorta confused , my 1982 hull# starts with SIC and if I'm reading this other trend right, my boat was made my Tracker marine and not CSY. What gives?

Steve

CSY took the tooling and mold for the 23' only after Potter left in 1980. They only built that size SeaCraft for approx 1 year in Tampa. If your hull ID starts with SIC then your boat is NOT built by Tracker nor CSY but SeaCraft Industries in Miami

BTW: How's your plans shaping up for your Bahamas trip this year

Capt Chuck, Wow, At one time I had seen a time graph on CSC where all SC's made between 1980 and 1987 were made by CSY, that's why I had thought mine was a CSY boat. So are all 1982 SC's made by SeaCraft Industries out of Tampa?
Looks like the Bahamas trip has been post phoned due to expecting a new addition to the family
