Default 1972 20FT CENTERCONSOLE WITH BENCH SEAT

I would like to take up the Bench seat and clean it up.The inside of the box mildews all the time. The top leaks and needs to be replaced.I would like to make it weather proof.
My question to seacraft nation is what material would be good for making the top and what materials would be good to
seal and paint the inside of the box.Does the track have to be unscrewed from the floor with the box?

What kind of seat? Mine is a fiberglass box with a cushion on the top.
