Hey guys,
After moving down here to Florida and getting hit two weeks after moving in with 3 #@$%^&* hurricanes we were seriously considering moving back to the frozen tundra of Rochester NY. NOT!!!! After some counsel from my buddy Otto, we are going to stick it out here in sunny FLA. Now I need to get in touch with some of the Classic SeaCrafters down here. Knew just about all there was to know about fishing the Great Lakes but I am a complete Greenhorn down here. My boys are endlessly pestering me to go fishing but the freshwater lakes here in Central Florida are not very interesting and we didn't move here to fish for largies. Any help from the knowledgable would be appreciated. Good to be back!!!!!! |

Tom,
Welcome back! For those that are not familiar with Tom's work, he was my partner in crime as we fully disassembled and renovated my 23 CC before he moved to Florida. So he has the benefit of a great deal of hands on experience on repairing a sick SeaCraft. His boat renovation and wood working experience are only shadowed by his extensive fresh water fishing skills and knowledge. His 2 boys could have there own fishing show and are veterans in thier own right. Any Florida members will be lucky if they are able to hook-up with Tom for in-shore or off-shore.

Ha Saltydog
Sorry about your bad luck with the hurricanes. I think everyone in the state felt like a human pieta this last year. All I can say is that this last season is defiantly the exception to the rule. I have been down here most of my life and I have never seen it like this. It sounds like your luck with hurricanes is like mine in the stock market. Anyway check out http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zeromain?id=1 this is by far the best place to check out fishing in your area. The forum guys there are great and the info is very good. Welcome to Florida. I'm a bit east of you, on the other side of Mickey Town. I think there might be a few other SC'rs close by also. From your location, getting to the Gulf is going to be quicker & easier. If you don't have one already, a subscription to Florida Sportsman will help you pinpoint your fishing spots, fresh & salt. Oh, by the way, If you miss working on SC's I have a '82 that I'd love to introduce you to.

Scott,
Good to hear from you. I will tell you it has bee very hard to see and hear how the, "fleet" is doing. Going to start my own fleet down here. Oh how I miss the sweet smell of epoxy kicking off in the morning kinda gives my brain cells the chills. "Was the deciding factor to stay in Fla Ottos insistance you get you butt back to work on the French-Canadien Armada?" I would do it in a heartbeat! |
