How fast do you want to go? If you don't mind losing your deck drains, you can put in a 4.3L V6 or a 5.7 litre V8. The very 1st 19' Seacraft I ever saw back in 1975 had a 260 hp Mercruiser. It was a '69 bowrider. It would do about 50-55 mph.

There are no deck drains on a 19 Bow Rider.. Everything goes into the bilge.. just have a big pump...I get 28 to 30 on my 19'BR with a Johnson 88SPL..

I don't know how they measured the speed back in 1969, but here's the stats from the Boating Mag review of the safari w/ a 140 mercruiser.
