Default Spray Rails for 23CC

Has anyone installed spray rails on a 23CC? If so, #1 did it give the boat a dryer ride? #2 Is the ride harder or softer in a head sea? #3 Any performance changes? I am looking at installing rails while I have my 23 down for re-power (Suzuki DF 225), cosmetics and electronics on the inside. I have a closed transom with a bracket.

Hope to have the motor hung next week at best. I will not install the spray rails unless I get some kind of response from someone who has them. I do know that it will at least create some slap in a head sea, but I have run several 31 Bertrams that have them and it did nothing to affect the ride. I don't want to make a big mistake on a fresh restored boat.

I have beautiful teak spray rails on my 23'. I have not yet run it because I just purchased it to restore. The guy that owned it before me swore by them though. He made sure I didn't have any intentions of taking them off. They look awesome also. I will try and post pictures, but I'm waiting for picturebucket to let me activiate my account. Hope this helps.

Something like these? I'd be interested to know to how they preform. Though I am not too crazy about the looks.

See the website thesmartrail.com. Call the owner. His son has a 23 sc with rails. Ask how they perform. I have them on my flats boat and they not only cut spray by 80+%, they also make the ride softer. I'd put them on my boat in a heartbeat but I don't like the look.

Thanks- I will make the call. Anyone need a 97 200 Oceanpro. Pulling it off for the Suzuki 4 stroke 225. Runs great.

The motor has about 500 hours. I got it when it had 150, and I have had it 3 years. It runs great, just want to go with a new 4 stroke and a little more HP since I am finishing up the final restoration on my 23cc. I don't have a real good handle on what it's worth. I have been looking at trader-on-line and boat trader. Putting an add in boat trader when I find out.
